I saw a documentary about people in Indonesia who lived in houses on stilts in the sea, and sometimes only came to land once in a whole year. So I started thinking what if there was a war or a huge natural disaster on land and these people survived and carried on building upwards until their villages became huge industrial cities

That's a really interesting concept. Who knows, we might actually start seeing things like this in the near future. That would be just about as cool as this picture. Excellent job.
